Job Purpose:

Do you want to advance your multimedia career by creating 3D animations, augmented reality (AR) experiences, and graphics for cutting-edge software and world-class equipment, while working for an industry leader and household name?

The Technical Publications Department at The Toro Company is looking for an exceptional candidate with great ideas, skills, and passion for multimedia design and innovation. In this position, you will create graphical instructions that show our customers how to operate Toro software applications and machines. You will use Workfront project management software and animation and video software (Maya, After Effects, Camtasia), work with multiple departments (Design Engineering, Marketing, Customer Service), and user test animations and AR experiences that add great value for our customers.

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will:

  • Create 3D animations, augmented reality (AR) experiences, videos, illustrations, graphic storyboards, and line art. 
  • Define and translate customer requirements into effective graphical instructions. 
  • Present innovative approaches that inspire, inform, and captivate audiences. 
  • User test animations, storyboards, and augmented reality experiences. 
  • Use the Toro Graphics Style Guide and the Toro Animations Style Guide. 
  • Enhance your skills using PTC products (Windchill, Creo Parametric, Creo Illustrate). 
  • Understand the Toro structured models and bill of material structure. 
  • Use knowledge of Toro products to manage cross-functional content for several product families. 
  • Guide and mentor writers who are creating graphical instructions.

What Do You Need?

To be considered for this role, you should meet the following requirements:

Basic Job Qualifications:

  • Degree in Art, Animation and Digital Media, Multimedia Design, or a related field 
  • 2-5 plus years’ experience in multimedia design 
  • Proficiency in animation software such as Maya or 3dsMax, and After Effects 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator 
  • Design portfolio that reflects demonstrated ability in 3D animation, video creation, and technical illustration 
  • Talented communicator though the use of animations, AR, storyboards, and graphics 
  • Strong collaboration, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Experience working with CAD models and engineering data 
  • Experience working with subject matter experts and technical content creators 
  • Experience with project tracking software (e.g., Workfront) 
  • Programming experience with Javascript, css, and html 
  • Knowledge of augmented reality (AR) experiences
