Position Overview:

Provide content and creative strategy for College of Communications various promotional materials and online platforms. This includes implementation of various plans to drive higher undergraduate and graduate enrollment through enhanced promotion and awareness.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain responsibility for managing, updating and creating/designing content for the Diederich College of Communication website.
  2. Participate in the development of the content strategy and direction for all marketing and promotional vehicles on behalf of the College.
  3. Develop and implement College’s social media and digital advertising strategy to maximize awareness for events and initiatives. Maintain regular contact with faculty, staff, administrators, students and alumni of the college to identify and write about newsworthy programs, events, and other developments. Work collaboratively with others regarding social media and digital advertising strategy.
  4. Contribute as part of a larger team to the overall communications strategy that supports the college’s priorities around enrollment and engagement with alumni and community members.
  5. Work collaboratively with external (vendors, freelancers) and internal partners to ensure appropriate branding strategies and quality of deliverables.
  6. Regularly review current processes and outputs for areas of opportunity.
  7. Perform regular analysis on outcomes to further refine digital strategy.
  8. Participate in college wide committees as needed.
  9. Provide photography support at College of Communications events as needed.
  10. Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, new media production, marketing or other related concentration is required.
  • 5 – 7 years previous experience in the oversight of creative direction (print, digital and social) will be key in ensuring success in this job.
  • Experienced in Adobe Creative Suite software.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively is essential.
  • Ability to work with variety of individuals and build and maintain relationships.
  • Effective written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Strong organizational and process management skills.
  • Knowledge/skills in web analytics and content management system.
