Position Details

New Location Marketing Specialist
Northern Illinois
Oak Brook Terrace, IL

The New Location Marketing Specialist will engage and collaborate with marketing leads and other cross functional stakeholders to research, identify, develop and support the execution of integrated marketing initiatives for all new location openings in order to drive brand awareness, consideration, engagement, traffic and sales.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Pre-Opening Planning

  • Conduct pre-opening meetings with marketing leads to gain market insights and potential marketing outlets
  • Understand trade area market dynamics to develop relevant, integrated marketing strategies and localized plans designed to drive key brand and business metrics
  • Communicate timelines to internal teams and vendor partners to ensure deadlines are met for grand opening dates

Community Engagement

  • Research and monitor community digital channels to gain insight on market activities suitable for our brands
  • Identify and coordinate plans to outreach to communities and other area businesses and organizations to build brand awareness
  • Document, track and report on community marketing activity

Marketing Execution

  • Work with marketing team to leverage appropriate marketing channels in promotion of all new locations, both for pre- and post- opening
  • Coordinate updates and modifications to current marketing assets per location. Also, coordinate design and creation of new creative assets
  • Monitor local competitor websites and other digital channels to understand consumer behavior, pricing, promotions, messaging and use that information to update and modify local marketing initiatives
  • Serve as primary marketing point of contact for new locations within the organization
  • Manage creative, media and tactical execution timelines for all grand opening elements
  • Maintain close communication with internal teams to keep marketing tasks on track
  • Maintain an adaptable model that ensures consistent replication across the system for all location types (DeNovo, M & A)

Reporting And Performance

  • Manage budgets for new locations to drive profitable results per established financial plan
  • Monitor sales trends for new locations and adjust marketing efforts as needed
  • Use Google Analytics and other tools to assess and report on performance
  • Lead communication of new location marketing plans and status updates to functional areas both in written and verbal communication
  • Collaborate with functional areas to prepare postmortem brief for all new location marketing campaigns

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Business, Liberal Arts or a related field required 
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in Marketing or related field
