The Outreach Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director of University Housing and works closely with department leadership on issues related to outreach, marketing, communications, and assessment.

This position supervises the Integrated Marketing Specialist and student Outreach Assistants. The Outreach Coordinator, in collaboration with the Integrated Marketing Specialist, oversees the development, delivery, and evaluation of all marketing, communications, promotion and special events efforts for University Housing. This position is will represent University Housing at orientations, admission and housing tours, welcome week events, special events and receptions conducted for purposes of student recruitment and retention, as well as departmental promotion across campus.

The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for preparing and presenting information to internal and external sources. This role is responsible for executing communications strategies, including social media, print media, and advertising. The Outreach Coordinator will also serve as the primary contact for all departmental assessment efforts including timeline, design, promotion, roll out, and evaluation to be reported in both quarterly and annual reports. The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for chairing the Housing Assessment working team. The outreach coordinator may be assigned to serve on departmental, divisional and campus wide committees as deemed necessary and fit for the role.

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 4 years total work experience (Grad Asst. work counts toward it), with a minimum of 2 years experience in marketing and communications, including communication plans, media communications, web site development and print production
  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Experience providing marketing or outreach in a college or university setting
  • Knowledge of new media and Web 2.0 with the capacity to utilize them effectively in an educational environment 
  • Knowledge of assessment within a university setting
  • Experience and demonstrated ability to work well with campus constituencies and administrative teams
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills necessary to work in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Ability to independently manage multiple tasks to bring projects from beginning to completion on time and within budget 
  • Experience with supervising staff
