Hoffman York’s Media Planning and Buying department is hiring eager, ambitious students seeking agency experience in planning, executing, and stewarding paid media placements. We currently have an available internship position for the Fall semester starting in September and ending in December 2022.

We like interns. A lot. And contrary to what you may have heard about most internships, our interns don’t come here to make copies or fetch coffee. (Unless they need to make themselves copies and get themselves some coffee.) Our paid media intern will help plan and buy across all media outlets by assisting in research analysis, comparing the value of different media outlets, monitoring media campaign performance and organizing media data. They contribute. They do real work for real clients. They make friends. Some get hired. And hold on to your hat – they also get paid.


This position provides some foundational understanding of media planning, buying and strategy and has a lot of room for career growth within the department. Our media team is responsible for recommending media plans that are backed with supportive research and data and activating media buys that are on strategy, on budget and on time.

We are looking for an analytical-minded and problem-solving individual to come help our team on our current client needs. Some of the essential job responsibilities for this role are:

  1. Assisting with day-to-day needs of media planners and buyers throughout the planning, buying and stewardship phases 
  2. Reviewing category, audience and media research studies to pull out insights that help frame a discussion and a recommended approach 
  3. Observing HY’s third-party auditing tools to track media performance, audience delivery and providing insights and commentary throughout a buy’s life cycle 
  4. Writing thoughtful, concise and well-organized emails, document summaries and PowerPoint presentations 
  5. Creating visually clean Microsoft Office charts, graphs and tables via Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint 
  6. Trafficking and tagging creative assets for our paid media placements 
  7. Achieving proficiency in the operation of all agency computer software and systems (e.g. Google Ads, Kantar, IMS, Sizmek, Facebook Ads)

We are looking for a detail oriented student with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office – including Excel. An interest in research and math is a plus. Intern candidates would ideally work between 20-28 hours per week.

Internships are paid, and with approval, are available for credit.
