Proofread any job as required by user departments of the International Foundation and International Society. This will require the checking of spelling and grammar, including punctuation, hyphenation, format, accuracy, consistency, sense and sentence structure.

Fact-check jobs for accuracy of names, dates, times, locations and other pertinent information.

Check each job for typographic integrity, including font, point size, leading, kerning and consistency, then communicate with Graphic Artists and Designers to ensure that all changes and corrections are clearly understood.

Exercise good judgment with minimal supervision in application of knowledge to assigned tasks, keeping in mind the impact on the overall operation of the department.

This position requires strong knowledge of spelling, grammar and usage of the English language; standard proofreading symbols; and principles of good typography. Applicant must have above average skills in both verbal and written communication, the ability to identify spelling and grammatical errors, and the ability to apply varying standards to specific jobs as required. Applicants must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills. The ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is required. In addition, this person will be able to thrive in a team environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and processes. This individual must also possess the ability to work with minimum supervision. Must have strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software.

Work efficiently on multiple assignments to ensure the timely meeting of deadlines while maintaining good communication that will contribute to the smooth operation of the department and enhance the development of a cohesive team.

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and possess the required skill sets. This individual must be able to work both remotely and in a normal office environment. The individual must possess self-motivation, flexibility, an even temperament that is professional and pleasant, attention to details, a long attention span, above-average reading comprehension and excellent office computer skills in software such as Microsoft Office. Minimal functional knowledge of the French language is a plus but not required.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in English or journalism or acceptable comparable relevant experience.

Pay: $20 per hour

Hours per Week: 20-22 Hours
