Position Details

Pharmaceutical Copywriter
Northern Illinois
Oak Brook, IL

The successful candidate will have several years of relevant healthcare communication experience and know what it takes to develop engaging and strategically sound content for a variety of marketing and educational collateral.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working within a creative team environment to develop conceptual approaches that meet client objectives 
  • Developing promotional copy for a variety of patient-, payer-, and healthcare professional-facing materials 
  • Developing content that is compliant with FDA guidance and regulations 
  • Editing and adapting work to address feedback received by internal and client teams 
  • Accurately referencing and annotating work for Medical/Legal/Regulatory submissions 
  • Thoroughly understanding marketing/advertising strategy as well as medical and scientific information that pertains to clients’ brands 
  • Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with all members of the agency team through constant communication and collaboration


  • A bachelor’s degree in a writing-related field (e.g., English, Communications, Journalism) or a medical/scientific field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry) 
  • 3-5 years of experience working as a writer in a healthcare agency 
  • Familiarity with AMA Style and FDA guidelines for healthcare promotion 
  • High level of professionalism 
  • Exceptional grammar and proofreading skills 
  • Ability to quickly execute time-sensitive projects with excellence 
  • Ability to work in print media and have an understanding of other forms of media 
  • Confidence in presenting your work and articulating your ideas with internal and client teams 
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent organizational and project/time management skills
