The College Photographer & Content Creator will assist the College Marketing team and the College’s brand awareness by supporting the College’s social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, and by capturing and processing high quality images of students, events, spaces and activities at Waukesha County Technical College for use in a variety of media channels, including print publications, advertisements, websites, social media pages, billboards, digital ads, College signage, etc.

  1. Create and produce photography for College Marketing of Waukesha County Technical College students, events, spaces and activities for uses including but not limited to: branding, collateral materials, publications, signage, displays and exhibits, wctc.edu, social media, college events, presentations and other assigned requests.
  2. Capture compelling, engaging and diverse photography during scheduled photo shoots and activities, as well as during ad hoc moments and opportunities.
  3. Manage the digital asset management (DAM) system as the comprehensive photo archive for internal use, departmental use and sharing with external sources, including editing, captioning and keywording photos and maintaining the archive.
  4. Assist in the planning and coordination of on- and off-campus photo shoots—ensuring location set-up, correct framing, subject placement and fore-/background attention—as requested to meet deadlines and support media requests for images
  5. Manage all primary Waukesha County Technical College social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. Develops and implements organic social media strategy and content calendar in conjunction with annual strategic marketing plan.
  6. Collaborate with departments and programs across campus to share a variety of content and build a comprehensive presence across all social media platforms. Assist in teaching best practices to managers of affiliated WCTC social media accounts.
  7. Coordinate with members of the marketing team to integrate social media advertising campaigns and content strategy into other digital advertising initiatives, enrollment campaigns, email campaigns, etc. for maximum reach and performance
  8. Monitor, track and report upon appropriate metrics and make recommendations to improve performance on social media accounts. Seek continuous growth in content and on new platforms, including engaging with local brands, partners and influencers (and/or students) to increase reach, engagement and consistency.
  9. Participate in and contribute to assignments and special projects of a similar nature and level.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • A portfolio demonstrating experience of delivering creative and effective photography is preferred
  • Proficient in Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Bridge and Adobe Photoshop
  • Proficient at capturing high quality images with a DSLR camera
  • Knowledge and experience with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and other forms of social media
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Have superior communication and time management skills
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and respond effectively in a rapidly changing environment
  • Maintain current professional and technical knowledge in the field through professional education and activities, and exhibit strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization effectively and flexibly.
  • Maintain and uphold Waukesha County Technical College branding guidelines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven photography, marketing, communications, social/digital media experience or classes required, Associates Degree preferred
  • 2-4 years of experience and possess a comprehensive knowledge in the photography
  • 2-4 years of experience and possess a comprehensive knowledge of engaging social media account management

SALARY: $18.63 - $22.35 Hourly.
