KemperLesnik is currently accepting applications for the position of Player Relations Coordinator on the Sports Marketing and Events Team. This position will introduce a highly motivated individual to all aspects of athletic event management, communications, and brand activation. The Player Relations Coordinator is responsible for supporting the KemperLesnik event team in all areas including hospitality, sponsorship coordination, participant communication and event operations for the 2024 McDonald’s All American Games.

The position is based in KemperLesnik’s Downtown office (10 S. Riverside Plaza, Suite 1844). Hours are typically 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday but do involve some travel and extended hours based on event schedules. The position involves working in the office 3-5 days each week.

(Full Time, Temporary | January through April 2024)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in day-to-day contact with event participants leading up to the 2024 McDonald’s All American Games including registration, coordinating travel, and tracking data as needed by event partners 
  • Assist in all aspects of planning, setup, execution of information center management, and post-event recapping 
  • Assist with fulfillment of sponsor contracts as well as assist with post-event wrap up reports where needed

Education/Qualifications/Certifications:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in event management, marketing, or a similar industry 
  • Previous internships or positions in the sporting events industry preferred 
  • Demonstrated proficiency and interest in events and travel coordination 
  • Exceptional communications skills, both written and verbal 
  • Must be detail-oriented 
  • A strong work ethic 
  • Strong customer service skills over the telephone, in person, and through written communication 
  • Must be fluent with Office programs including Word and Excel 
  • Desktop publishing/design skills (i.e. Photoshop, PageMaker, Illustrator) a plus 
  • Ability to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and some holidays

Position Requirements:

  • Read and write (English) 
  • Communicate verbally with staff members and/or customers 
  • Give and/or follow verbal and written instructions 
  • Retrieve, read and interpret information from technical sources 
  • Stand, sit, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, bend and kneel for up to 10 hours at a time 
  • Lift up to 30 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs constantly
