HDC’s Brand Strategy Intern is accountable for supporting HDC’s strategists and planners in the development of brand platforms, brand planning insights and activation plans on behalf of our clients. He or she reports to the Chief Strategy Officer.

The Brand Strategy Intern spends the majority of his or her time working on client-facing projects. He or she supports more senior HDC personnel by conducting research and analysis, uncovering new consumer insights and serving as the “go to” resource for a variety of tactical requests.

This position offers an opportunity for ambitious individuals to gain invaluable experience in brand-building by contributing to HDC’s efforts to transform our clients’ brands and businesses.

Responsibilities: 

  • Research and analysis – Reviewing competing and category brands, analyzing quantitative and qualitative survey results, trademark and usage search, image search, trend research, etc.
  • Consumer insights – Using online tools such as GfK MRI and others to uncover new, compelling insights about the consumers with whom our clients are seeking to build relationships.
  • Miscellaneous support – Documenting client meetings and qualitative research sessions, coordinating report production, creating presentation decks, etc. 

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable knowledge of the fundamentals of branding. Impeccable written and oral communication skills. Advanced technical proficiency in all things online and digital (emphasis on the ability to quickly master online tools such as GfK MRI, CubeYou, etc.).
  • Prior experience in an agency or corporate marketing communications setting.
  • A bachelor’s degree in communications or a similar field of study is preferred. We would also consider an exceptionally talented undergraduate who is nearing graduation.
  • A willingness and ability to learn. Effective at managing deadlines; relentless about keeping commitments to clients and co-workers.

This is a paid internship. Weekly hours estimated to be between 20 and 40 hours per week depending on individual schedules and workload.
