Put your strategic thinking abilities, creative writing, planning and media relations skills (traditional and social) to work in a fast paced and exciting environment at Leonard & Finco Public Relations, Inc. As a result of our company's growth, we're adding an Account Executive to work with us on a variety of interesting and fun client projects.

This position is responsible to assist in carrying out the goals and objectives of Leonard & Finco Public Relations, Inc., under the direction and guidance of the L&F management team. The person holding this position:

  • Should enjoy working in a fun and fast-paced team environment, partnering with a wide variety of clients in diverse industries.
  • Will directly work with L&F clients, providing strategic advice and guidance while implementing communication plans and tactics approved by the client
  • Will be aware of, and encourage development of additional work with existing clients and/or be aware of new work opportunities which can be pursued by management

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Act as a lead or backup on accounts, making sure client work is performed in a timely, professional and acceptable way.
  2. Development and implementation of strategic communication tactics which may include: writing, social media, events, media relations, stakeholder outreach, etc.
  3. Contribute to strategy sessions to develop ideas and plans for clients
  4. Review and comment on client proposals developed by management
  5. Maintain an average of 70% billable hours during the course of a month.
  6. An account executive will be responsible for accuracy and accountability for all client records, receipts and timesheets. She/he must maintain a daily log of all activities and work with the internal accountant to ensure clients are billed properly.
  7. An account executive must plan, schedule and prioritize work responsibilities and adhere to deadlines in the daily working environment as well as in a crisis situation.
  8. Must be deadline driven and committed to getting the job done.
  9. Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings.
  10. Continue to study and learn about industry and technology developments through extensive reading, seminar attendance, etc.
  11. Must have flexibility to be able to work nights, weekends and occasional holidays when the client needs are outside of normal working hours or when the job requires extra time or effort. This is not a usual occurrence, but it does sometimes happen.
  12. Must follow and adhere to company rules and regulations as well as standards of conduct outlined in the Leonard & Finco Public Relations, Inc. employee handbook.
  1. Educational requirements include a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a communications field, plus a minimum of two to five years of experience in the field of public or government relations, advertising, marketing or the media.
  2. Must be a self-starter and a team player with a positive attitude.
  3. Must possess demonstrated abilities to plan, organize, set strict deadlines and priorities.
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to write concisely and professionally for varied audiences about diverse topics.
  5. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Power Point, Excel, and Publisher), and Adobe Acrobat.
  6. Working knowledge of social media for businesses and organizations, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, SnapChat, Pinterest and Instagram. Knowledge of social media advertising a plus.
  7. Graphic design experience and experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and/or Illustrator a plus.
  8. Must have the ability to be a leader on a project and provide professional direction as needed.
  9. Must demonstrate the ability to make sound professional decisions.
  10. Must have a professional understanding of client confidentiality.
  11. Must have the ability to successfully interact with a variety of clients in the scope of the workday.
  12. Must be able to work with diverse personalities and put personal viewpoints aside when working with others.
  13. Must be able to multi-task.
  14. Must be bondable, possess a valid driver’s license, have reliable transportation and automobile insurance.
  15. Must present a professional appearance and demeanor as an associate of L&F.
  16. Must be willing to sign a limited non-compete agreement. It does not limit your ability to leave L&F; but it does prohibit you from taking L&F clients with you should you leave.
