Communications Strategy Group (CSG), a full-service public relations firm with a focus on influencer relations and content marketing, is seeking candidates for an available associate position in the firm's expanding Education Practice. The practice serves a diverse portfolio of clients including colleges and universities; school districts; state departments of education; education associations, foundations, and advocacy organizations; and B2B and B2C education companies. CSG is based in Denver, with offices in Chicago, New York, and Washington DC. The successful candidate can be based in the firm’s Denver or Chicago office.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Write and distribute core communications materials including press releases, pitches, backgrounders, and fact sheets 
  • Write and edit content including blog posts, newsletter articles, and social media posts 
  • Manage standard media requests 
  • Develop a strong understanding of the education industry, research and monitor related news and information to maintain a current base of knowledge, and identify and flag relevant items for clients and colleagues 
  • Foster relationships with education influencers 
  • Support administrative and account management functions including scheduling meetings, taking and distributing call notes, drafting activity reports, and compiling coverage reports

Requirements:

Applicants should have 2-3 years of public relations experience, preferably in an agency environment supporting multiple clients. The ideal candidate is an ambitious, creative self-starter who is a strong writer capable of creating content in a variety of styles and forms, and is willing to go the extra mile for clients and colleagues.
