Remote Work Option: This role will fall under Core Creative's work from home structure that allows the employee to choose where to work from. We realize that some days it is simply more efficient for you to work from your home office, while on other days it may be easier to book an office space and work from the Core Creative offices. We are looking for an PR/Media Relations professional who can help support our efforts both with clients and for Core. This position offers an opportunity to learn every aspect of the agency, and ultimately provide a path for continued and rewarding growth.

As the PR/Media Relations Specialist for Core, you will help lead PR and media outreach efforts for two of our largest clients. You will be responsible for securing media coverage (local, regional, national business and key trade outlets), and will help guide clients by providing ongoing counsel and planning support. In addition, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of coverage reports, as well as creating media lists, writing press releases, articles and other forms of content.

Day to Day Responsibilities: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Keep apprised of clients’ brands/products/services/marketing developments. 
  • Assist in preparing client documents and deliverables (i.e. news releases, articles/blogs, organic social posts/engagement, reports). 
  • Conduct media research and stay connected with relevant news coverage of our clients and their competitors. 
  • Provide regular news reports to internal team and client to help with ongoing planning and pitch opportunities. 
  • Checks for and responds promptly to all client communications. 
  • Assist in the development and implementation of proposals and public relations plans. 
  • Relay client communication with internal teams. 
  • Develop and maintain media lists and media contacts for assigned accounts. 
  • Write media materials, including press releases, pitches, articles/blogs, press kits and other relevant materials. 
  • Actively pitch local, regional, national and trade media. 
  • Monitor for coverage across all channels. 
  • Assist with the coordination and planning of special events, as needed. 
  • Assemble weekly, monthly and quarterly reports as required by clients, taking the lead on insights and analysis, as well as leading reviews of reports with clients. 
  • Use and adhere to documented strategy to guide execution and content creation. 
  • Creation and deployment of social and thought leadership content across all platforms. 
  • Maintain accurate, and up-to-date content calendars. 
  • Interview and ghost write content on behalf of our clients. 
  • Work directly with clients to create and maintain accurate brand messaging, tone and voice.

Job Requirements:

  • Writing and communicating to vast audiences with differing needs. 
  • Maintaining in-depth knowledge of and adherence to AP style. 
  • Remaining well-organized and self-motivated, and have the ability to multitask. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines, while being detail oriented. 
  • Ability to work with a wide range of personalities. 
  • Natural tendency to be curious about emerging communication trends and consider oneself to be a “news junky.” 

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 2-5 years agency experience. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or related fields. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
