PKA Marketing is looking for a PR and social media writer and content creator to serve its B2B clients in the construction, agricultural and related manufacturing industries. This person will work directly with agency account teams and clients to write content for core PR and social media activities (news releases, feature articles, blogs, social calendars, etc.). The position is full-time in support of existing clients and account teams, with a path forward that focuses on development of a skillset for growth into full account executive-level activities.

Responsibilities and Duties

Support integrated marketing and content campaigns on behalf of clients

  • Follow and monitor social media trends and counsel clients and agency teams on recommendations, best practices, etc. 
  • Manage and monitor social media platforms on behalf of clients Participate in regular client meetings 
  • Create press materials (news releases, case studies, white papers, etc.) for use both in the press and on client-owned content channels Build editorial schedules, pitch recommendations 
  • Participation in thought leadership programs, and draft position papers based on materials and interviews with client 
  • Travel to customer locations to perform case study/job story/testimonial development 
  • Proof and review all copy produced across all disciplines (web, editorial, multimedia, social, etc). 

Qualifications and Skills Requirements

  • Self-starter capable of being proactive in all phases of their work 
  • Concise, succinct writing samples with proof of professional use (web, editorial, social, etc.) 
  • Knowledge and experience of primary social media platforms (FB, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIN, Snapchat, TikTok, etc; and the nuance/differences in the content of each. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to additional web-based platforms and communications channels 
  • Preferably local to SE Wisconsin/NE Illinois Strong references Benefits

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications or related field 3-5 years of experience working in a PR/marketing communications/social media role BONUS:Photography skills suitable for editorial placement; extra consideration for those with professional photography/video/video editing abilities
