Manages the creative outcome of Discover marketing communications for assigned business lines by applying innovative thinking, ideation, leadership, concept development, and functional expertise in art direction and design, with the skill to also evaluate copywriting. Leads the pursuit of fresh, conceptually strong creative that generates new customers, sells products/services, and enhances a unified customer experience across all media. Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

Responsibilities:

  • Fosters relationships with multiple business partners to present and sell work, as well as recommend solutions to further the effectiveness of the team’s partnerships. 
  • Be a dynamic, results-driven leader and guides the conception, development, refinement, and execution of on-strategy, on-time, high-stopping power creative that delivers on the Creative Brief and Business Partner objectives/key performance indicators. Be an advocate of the Discover Brand Standards and reviews all work with a critical eye, ensuring the team’s work has one brand and one voice across all media (print, digital, video, radio, social/content). 
  • Monitors project milestones and produces consistently strategic, response-driven communications for multiple projects under tight deadlines, while complying with company/department requirements, policies, and processes. 
  • Works with the team’s Group Creative Senior Manager and provides hands-on conceptual and design support when needed to create bold, fresh concepts. Be a strategic and independent thinker and apply expertise across all marketing tactics and media, ensuring work is created to specification, production-ready, and free of errors in fact, style, or presentation. 
  • Pursues developmental opportunities, including participation in high-profile product/innovation/feature launches, video and photo shoots, rebranding projects, product research, and special initiatives from other marketing or business units. 
  • Acts as UX/UI subject matter expert, creating wireframes and hi-fidelity artwork to assist in the evolution of the Discover Home Loans private website. Works with product managers and development teams to ensure an innovative, best-in-class online experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Advertising, Graphic Design or equivalent 
  • 8+ years of creative experience across a diverse client portfolio and media, including print, digital, video, radio, and social/content 
  • In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of creative experience across a diverse client portfolio and media, including print, digital, video, radio and social/content

Preferred Qualifications:
