Product Copywriter

About the Role:

The primary responsibility of the Product Copywriter is to create detailed, engaging descriptions that have a very strong commercial flair for assigned merchandise, writing and editing with self-sufficiency. The Product Copywriter will write approximately 30-40 descriptions a day, referencing content sheets, product images and other information provided by the Merchandising Team and our Merchandise Vendors. The Product Copywriter will ensure that finished copy is accurate and complete.


  • Describe company products clearly and concisely through accurate product descriptions while adhering to specific KPIs
  • Create 30-40 product descriptions per day
  • Apply SEO best practices for keywords, meta titles, meta descriptions
  • Ensure all product information is consistent and accurate, including spelling and grammar
  • Collaborate with internal teams for additional product information or specifications
  • Keep an organized library of all created materials
  • Communicate effectively to the appropriate departments to ensure work continuity
  • Assist product photographer with styling, angles and image management
  • Assist with Social Media and Marketing teams and other marketing related responsibilities as needed
  • Work with marketplace support to resolve issues that cause our products to lose visibility on the channels we sell on

About You:

  • 1-2 years’ experience writing product or marketing copy for eComm, retail or catalog (fashion brands preferred)
  • Must possess strong written, oral, graphic, and visual communication skills; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from executives, managers, and peers
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, Google Docs and digital asset management systems
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, to collaborate with cross-functional team to achieve necessary results
  • Amazon experience preferred
  • SEO background preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills (Must be proficient with MS Excel, Word, Google Mail) 
  • Ability to learn and understand new programs and order management software
  • Ability to quickly navigate online retail websites
  • Above average knowledge of retail and/or e-commerce
  • Attention to detail and accuracy; prioritize tasks to meet multiple and changing deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Design or related field desired
