We are seeking a creative, ambitious, and well-rounded individual to join our growing Marketing team as a Product Marketing Manager to support the development of our growing Optics division. In this role, you’ll partner with a diverse, cross-functional team spanning from Creative Design, Sales, New Product Development, Engineering and Supply Chain to drive the development and execution of the long-term brand strategy, product positioning, and profitability of Vortex’s Optics lines. The ideal candidate will leverage their creative and entrepreneurial nature with strong organizational and project management skills to help our customer focused organization develop the most advanced, highest quality and most exciting Optics equipment in the industry.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Drive product launch strategies and schedules through coordination of cross-functional teams 
  • Support product marketing strategies, including market development, market segmentation, targeting, positioning, and messaging. 
  • Work with key stakeholders to define a brand vision for the Optics division. 
  • Support the creation and execution of product roadmaps, assessing priorities and trade-offs between customer experience, time-to-market, and operational support load. 
  • Assist in all elements of the product lifecycle from strategic planning through customer satisfaction. 
  • Plan for and utilize market research to affect key product and marketing plans, including but not limited to, competitive position, purchase drivers, pricing, industry trends and technologies. 
  • Drive efficiency by ensuring on-time execution of key divisional initiatives. 
  • Establish appropriate marketing pricing for products. 
  • Ensure clarity of product decision making and accountability for performance throughout all cross-functional teams involved in the execution of the Optics product roadmaps. 
  • Define product positioning and messaging that communicate the value, benefits, and unique selling points. 
  • Maintain strong product knowledge across all products in the Optics segment. 
  • Compile market trend and competitive intelligence reports. 
  • Lead product information & user feedback sharing across cross functional teams to be used in development, upgrading current or future projects. 
  • Lead packaging and manual content creation and messaging. 
  • Collaborate with Creative Design to provide sales with effective selling tools such as product specifications, benefits and features, competitive comparisons, and consumer insights. 
  • Drive product launch strategies through coordination of cross-functional support and collaboration, including packaging, SKU rationalization, point of purchase materials, promotions, and more. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of experience 
  • Minimum 3 years of product marketing experience 
  • Leader, problem solver and strong team player with an energetic, positive attitude 
  • Thrive on high-pressure challenges and deliver high quality work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment 
  • Proficient in feature differentiation practices & competitive analysis 
  • Strong time management skills; 
  • Demonstrates a high degree of flexibility within tight deadlines 
  • Has strong influencing, negotiation, and communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) with the ability to be a thought partner/coach to internal team and stakeholders 
  • Experience with different methods of market research and data analysis 
  • Demonstrated ability to assess business value, time-to-market, and other trade-offs using data, when possible, to prioritize initiatives Comprehensive knowledge of product management best practices 
  • Experience using data and metrics to test theories, confirm assumptions and measure success. 
  • Experience leading projects from ideation through execution 
  • Possess a high degree of initiative and motivation; a willingness to help fellow Vortex departments and customers 
  • Strong technical aptitude with web-based productivity tools and intermediate to advanced proficiency of the Microsoft Office Suite
