Join our team as a Product Marketing Manager for Injection Molding!

This is a hybrid role (T, W, Th in office) located at HQ in Maple Plain, MN.

We are adding a Product Marketing Manager to lead our injection molding marketing strategies and tactics in the Americas. This individual will work in a highly matrixed environment, and collaborate cross-functionally with marketing communications, product management, sales, engineering, and customer service in order to develop strategies that will continue to deliver revenue growth for Protolabs’ unique digital manufacturing service offering in the Americas.

You will:

  • Create annual plans in support of the injection molding service line growth targets for awareness, demand, and revenue, including key activities and budgets to support new customer acquisition and retention of Protolabs’ existing customers. 
  • Partner closely with product management to gain a deep understanding of the product vision, upcoming functionality, and determine how best to communicate this externally 
  • Lead service line messaging and value propositions positioning Protolabs’ molding capabilities in a differentiated and market-leading way. 
  • Ensure all marketing messages articulate the right value and are relevant to intended audiences/personas. 
  • Act as a conduit between product management and marketing communications during product launches and go-to-market planning. 
  • Monitor and compare competitors’ marketing strategies across multitude of channels, including digital (paid/organic/social) as well as traditional (tradeshows/events/PR) to ensure market/service leadership and differentiation across all the key segments. 
  • Gain intimate customer persona knowledge and understanding of how Protolabs’ unique value proposition applies across multiple use cases; 
  • Socialize this knowledge with the rest of the marketing team and ensure adequate interpretation in content development, messaging, positioning, etc. 
  • Use data analytics to suggest the right level of marketing spend per channel, per persona, per tactic, per segment. 
  • Partner with sales and rest of marketing team to ensure the right type of sales enablement tools and resources needed for revenue attainment 
  • Understand and document customer/buyer journey, including where they get information, and the who, what, when and why behind every key decision. 
  • Accountable for partnering with sales, product management, and other cross-functional teams to ensure the attainment of service-level metrics, such as prospects, opportunities, and revenue. 
  • Participate in cross-functional demand planning process to ensure forecasting model accuracy and revenue attainment. 
  • Collaborate with content marketing team to identify content opportunities that drive service-specific business opportunities.

You have:

  • 7+ years of product marketing experience, preferably in technical/engineering field 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Marketing, MBA preferred 
  • Proven track record in using multiple marketing channels and tactics to raise awareness, drive demand, and deliver revenue 
  • Ability to analyze relevant information and make informed decisions 
  • B2B and/or e-Commerce experience highly desired 
  • Keen focus on customer-centric and data-driven approach to problem solving 
  • Strong knowledge or familiarity with marketing automation tools, Google Analytics, Data Studio, Moz or other SEO tools
  • Power user of networking tools like LinkedIn, Twitter, and industry blogs/forums 
  • Excellent people skills with ability to interact at all levels of the organization, including colleagues, cross-functional peers, executives, customers, and third parties 
  • Strong technical aptitude and desire to learn more
  • High interest in manufacturing technologies, product design/development, and/or other similar engineering disciplines 
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office tools and Salesforce/CRM
