Vortex Optics is looking for a creative, ambitious and well-rounded individual to support the development of our growing Optics division. As a Product Marketing Manager, you’ll partner with a diverse, cross-functional team spanning from Creative Design, Sales, New Product Development, Engineering and Supply Chain to drive the development and execution of the long-term brand strategy, product positioning, and profitability of Vortex’s Optics lines. The ideal candidate will leverage their creative and entrepreneurial nature with strong organizational and project management skills to help our customer focused organization develop the most advanced, highest quality and most exciting Optics equipment in the industry.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Work with key stakeholders to define a brand vision for the Optics division 
  • Support the creation and execution of product roadmaps, assessing priorities and trade-offs between customer experience, time-to-market, and operational support load 
  • Assist in all elements of the product lifecycle from strategic planning through customer satisfaction 
  • Drive efficiency by ensuring on-time execution of key divisional initiatives 
  • Establish appropriate marketing pricing for products, driven by meeting product costing expectations 
  • Ensure clarity of product decision making and accountability for performance throughout all cross-functional teams involved in the execution of the Optics product roadmaps 
  • Plan for and utilize market research to affect key product and marketing plans, including but not limited to, competitive position, purchase drivers, pricing, industry trends and technologies 
  • Define product positioning and messaging that communicate the value, benefits and unique selling points 
  • Maintain strong product knowledge across all products in the Optics segment 
  • Collaborate with Creative Design to provide sales with effective selling tools such as product specifications, benefits and features, competitive comparisons and consumer insights 
  • Drive product launch strategies through coordination of cross-functional support and collaboration, including packaging, sku rationalization, point of purchase materials, promotions, and more

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of experience 
  • Minimum 2 years of product marketing experience 
  • Ability to achieve results while managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; strong bias for action 
  • Demonstrated ability to assess business value, time-to-market, and other trade-offs using data, when possible, to prioritize initiatives 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of product management best practices 
  • Experience using data and metrics to test theories, confirm assumptions and measure success 
  • Experience leading projects from ideation through execution 
  • Experience with different methods of market research and data analysis 
  • Excellent teaming, influencing, and interpersonal skills 
  • Continuous improvement mindset 
  • Possess a high degree of initiative and motivation; a willingness to help fellow Vortex departments and customers 
  • Strong technical aptitude with web-based productivity tools and intermediate to advanced proficiency of the Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • SAP experience 
  • Financial analysis experience
