Summary:

The Production Artist is responsible for preparing a wide range of assets with a focus on Consumer Packaged Goods as well as supporting the order process with label assembly. The Production Artist works with Sales, Customer Service, Regulatory, Production and the Creative Services Manager to produce assets based on brand guidelines, while ensuring quality and consistency.   

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop, revise, and prepare final mechanical files from base layouts for print and production
  • Build Illustrator templates for label packaging and extending to existing brand packaging
  • Help manage and organize large amounts of files and directories
  • Build Photoshop banners and images
  • Edit/retouch photos and videos
  • Create and manage literature (catalogues, brochures, price books, sell sheets)

Requirements:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design.  A combination of relevant education and experience totaling the equivalent of 5 years may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Portfolio required
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator/InDesign/Photoshop/Acrobat) with heavy emphasis in Illustrator.  Experience with After Effects is a plus.
  • Knowledge of digital printing, including preparation and management of files for production output. Knowledge of flexography or silkscreen background a plus.
  • Willing to learn Windows environment
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Color vision adequate to determine conformance with quality requirements and specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to strict die lines, templates, and branding guidelines
  • Strong attention to detail with respect to proofing, quality, and accuracy
  • Strong ability to prioritize, problem-solve, troubleshoot, and manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proactive communication and information-gathering
  • Ability to interact professionally with third parties such as vendors and customers
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment
