To be an ideal candidate, you have a diverse portfolio of packaging design that showcases your work as a production designer—work that displays mechanicals, template creations, digital retouching, image optimization and file prep for use across multiple platforms. Must be highly collaborative, taking direction from the design team. Works to understand creative intent and applies best production practices resulting in consistent, accurate reproduction across all project deliverables. You can multitask and your strengths include the ability to adapt, flex and work quickly. Most importantly, you have an excellent attention to details, love to seek out solutions/needed data and are capable of delivering on critical project details. You pride yourself in being highly organized, energetic and radiate a positive attitude.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Gather, design and prepare files & supporting graphics correctly for each specific output
  • Knowledge of the entire print/production process and understand mediums/substrates constraints
  • Responsible for all packaging statements, following all posted FDA guidelines
  • Work closely with print vendors to make sure all mechanicals are built to printer specifications
  • Create review decks and mock ups as needed Manage color proof reviews and approvals with external pre-media partners
  • Responsible for digitally retouching images including changing backgrounds and surfaces, color, contrast and level adjustments, adding shadows and digitally changing out packaging
  • Implement design production solutions that improve output quality, increase efficiency and speed

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Expert skills - CS Cloud - Illustrator, In-Design, Photoshop, MS Office, Google Applications
  • Strong eye for details and collaborative personality
  • Must work at a fast pace, with efficiency and deliver on time and under pressure
  • Expert at time management and file organization skills

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • The Production Designer will have a BFA/BA/BS and a minimum of 1-3 years of work experience
