Production Director

We are seeking a highly creative, skilled and organized production genius to lead all aspects of internal and external production at the agency. You’ll be the agency’s hands-on integrated producer, developing content for our clients across all mediums and handling all aspects of project production from initial conception to final execution. You’ll also be an inspirational leader, supervising both our internal video production studio and project management group. Our ideal candidate can juggle multiple productions at the same time, is as creative-minded as they are detail-oriented and has deep experience working on large scale productions as well as quick-turn projects.

Integrated production:

• Performing all aspects of production across all types of projects, including TV, video, animation, audio, social media, illustration, photography, print, OOH, packaging and more
• Managing multiple projects from concept through completion, working with both in-house resources and third-party vendors
• Guiding a cross-discipline agency team and clients throughout the entire production process
• Multi-tasking between various project stages and types at the same time

Production partner resourcing:

• Sourcing and vetting production partners who can deliver on the creative vision of each project, within the budget and timeline
• Negotiating quotes with directors, editors, photographers, illustrators, retouchers, talent agencies and more
• Keeping up with industry trends and the production partners who can deliver on them and maintaining an up-to-date database of potential third-party resources
• Hosting production partner showings to keep the creative team informed about potential partners
• Maintaining relationships with casting agencies

Budget, schedule and documentation management:

• Defining the needs of projects, then creating accurate estimates, scopes of work, timelines and purchase orders to ensure each project is delivered on budget and on time
• Monitoring internal and external costs and timelines throughout the production process, keeping a constant eye on QvA
• Creating and maintaining all necessary project documentation, including pre-production documents, technical and production specs, production books and more
• Maintaining an organized system for rights management, from release forms to a rights timeline database

In-house studio management:

• Mentoring and supervising in-house videographer and photography resource
• Determining which projects stay in-house vs. go to a third-party vendor
• Maintaining the equipment needs of the studio

Project management supervision:

• Supervising agency project managers and filling in as a project manager when needed
• Working with the project management group to resource creative teams and also hire freelancers when needed
• Making decisions on how to most effectively use technology platforms to efficiently manage the agency’s projects

Experience:

• 10+ years experience (agency experience preferred; production house experience considered)
• Integrated producer background required

Education:

• Four-year university or equivalent degree in related area of study preferred, but proven experience and talent trump education
• Portfolio with stunning multichannel creative productions required
