Collective Measures is currently seeking a Proofreader / Copywriter who will be responsible for reviewing internally created and client materials for correct usage and consistency with agency standards. In addition, our new colleague will be responsible for creating written content for agency marketing, social media, website and business related publication. We are looking for a smart, detail oriented and focused professional to join our team.

_Job Duties:

  • At key stages: proofread, fact check, and line edit large volumes of ads and projects for brand editorial style, accuracy, and appropriateness 
  • Ensure consistent application of copy standards in multiple marketing projects 
  • Review copy and marketing deliverables for: correct grammatical, spelling, sentence structure, and typographical errors 
  • Produce written content for agency publications, including marketing, social media, website and business related documents 
  • Review weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for accuracy, consistency, and brand voice 
  • Applies the appropriate voice and tone for multiple brand-specific and department-specific work 
  • Articulate best practices and style / grammar choices Review projects during various stages of development, from first-draft copy deck through final website ready copy

_Educational / Experiential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Strategic Communications, Journalism, or related field required and /or commensurate previous proofreading or copy editing experience required; agency experience preferred 
  • Solid understanding of the digital publishing and production process, including ability to recognize layout problems 
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office suite including the creation, editing, review and use of documents and spreadsheets 
  • Thorough knowledge of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation rules 
  • Familiarity with digital-specific terminology, copy writing, SEO best practices, and industry trends 
  • Familiarity with AP style 
  • Ability to read and comprehend text rapidly and thoroughly to meet tight and ever-changing deadlines 
  • Ability to understand and use editing and proofreading marks 
  • Ability to apply relevant standards across a wide variety of publications
