The Proposal & Communications Manager will oversee proposal development and corporate communications activities to support the company’s business development efforts across all regions and markets. Responsibilities include, managing the proposal process and team to produce high quality proposals efficiently; collaborating with the Regional Directors and Business Developers to develop content to promote services across multiple platforms; managing the company’s external communications including website, press releases, sales collateral, social media, and trade shows.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leads the development of corporate standards for proposals and statements of qualifications (SOQs) to ensure high quality, timely and on target submittals.
  • Manages the proposal process including planning, review, and production of statements of qualifications and proposals.
  • Collaborates with Proposal Leads, Proposal Coordinators and Project Managers to ensure that proposal strategies, themes, and technical solutions are easily understandable, readable, and compelling.
  • Provides final quality control check for request for proposal (RFP) compliance and conformance to established strategies and plans.
  • Manages the database of leads, resumes, project descriptions, and text libraries to ensure that it is up to date and accurate.
  • Oversees all external communications including press releases, sales collateral, web, social media, and trade shows.
  • Manages and mentors the proposal and communications team (coordinators and graphic designer) to ensure efficient operations and alignment with corporate and business unit objectives.
  • Responsible for maintaining the corporate brand identity and insuring consistency across all business units, sales channels, and communication platforms.
  • Develops and manages the annual marketing communications plan and budget in support of the annual sales plan.
  • Manages the company’s on-line presence by coordinating with graphic designer to develop creative content for the website, internal SharePoint site, social media, and other channels.
  • Collaborates with Regional Directors and Business Developers on creative development and communication strategies for projects as needed.
  • Establishes metrics for the team and measures and analyzes website traffic, marketing campaigns and other promotional efforts to determine effectiveness and reach.
  • Supports the professional development of assigned staff and provides coaching and salary plan input as needed.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience with proposal development and communications in a professional services organization.
  • Experience with managing RFP and proposal processes is required.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to understand technical subject matter and create content that is accurate and engaging across multiple platforms.
  • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills with the ability to coach others and structure presentations for optimal impact.
  • Strong copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills; ability to understand and convey technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to work independently in an organized manner and manage multiple priorities/tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience with a variety of design software and digital tools including Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere, WordPress, LinkedIn, Twitter, HubSpot, Hot Jar etc.
  • Previous experience with the creation, maintenance, and development of CRM databases is desired.
  • Valid drivers license and the ability to travel occasionally is required.
