Flad is seeking a Proposal Writer/Marketing Specialist with strong visual and communication skills to join our team. In this role you will assist the firm with proposal development and content generation for a variety of promotional materials.

The Proposal Writer/Marketing Specialist is responsible for proposal generation, content creation, and marketing initiatives. They will collaborate with a team to develop statement of qualifications and proposals from start to finish. This will include coordinating, writing, and gathering content, graphics, and relevant information on key personnel, projects, and consultants to ensure the final proposal submission is high quality and submitted on time. Additionally, the Proposal Writer/Marketing Specialist develops written content to be published on the website, shared on social media, submitted for presentations, and utilized in promotional materials. They will assist with additional marketing tasks as needed including general support for marketing and business development efforts, award nominations, articles, press releases, and photography.

The ideal candidate must have creative/technical writing skills, an eye for detail, work well both independently and within a team environment, and be committed to working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Flad Architects has a hybrid work environment, allowing you time for collaboration in the office and work time at your home office.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the development, writing, editing, layout, and production of responses to Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Request for Qualifications (RFQ), ensuring timely completion and high-quality submissions. Taking both a creative and process-oriented approach, you will coordinate our firm's responses ensuring content is comprehensive, competitive, client-specific, and compliant with RFQ/RFP requirements.
  • Collaborate with principals, senior team members, and technical staff to collect, write, and organize proposal content and other marketing collateral in alignment with brand standards.
  • Lead, develop, and write accurate and engaging content for case studies, stories, press releases, articles, and copy for use in public relations, social media, website, marketing, and business development efforts across all offices. Author award submittals and promotional materials for conferences.
  • Stay on top of current projects and innovations occurring within the firm to support ongoing project documentation. Interview internal team members to draw out information on project attributes and statistics. Edit materials prepared by team members to ensure consistency with firm brand message.
  • Develop and maintain various marketing pieces, including project descriptions and resumes.
  • Collaborate with project teams to coordinate photoshoots as needed.
  • Perform multiple marketing efforts against rapid and frequent deadlines.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years relevant writing experience and a Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Experience coordinating, organizing, writing, and designing complex, large documents.
  • Superior writing skills, including ability to craft a story in a compelling manner.
  • Excellent editing and proofreading skills.
  • Strong organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with office leadership and clients.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in the A/E/C industry not required but is a plus.
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign not required but is a plus.
