Flad is seeking a Proposal Writer / Marketing Specialist with strong writing, communication, and organizational skills to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for proposal generation, content creation, and marketing initiatives in a deadline-driven environment. In this position, you will collaborate with project teams to develop statements of qualifications and proposals from start to finish. This will include coordinating, organizing, writing, and gathering content, graphics, and relevant information on key personnel, projects, and consultants to ensure the final proposal submission is high quality and submitted on time.

Additionally, the Proposal Writer / Marketing Specialist will assist with additional marketing tasks and writing assignments as needed. The ideal candidate must work well both independently and within a team environment and be committed to working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This position has a hybrid work schedule allowing some remote (from home) work with some in-office work required.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the development, writing, editing, layout, and production of responses to Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and Request for Proposals (RFPs) ensuring timely completion and high-quality submissions. Taking both a creative and process-oriented approach, you will coordinate our firm's responses ensuring content is comprehensive, competitive, client-specific, and compliant with RFQ/RFP requirements.
  • Collaborate with principals, senior team members, and technical staff to collect, write, organize, and layout proposal content and other marketing collateral in alignment with brand standards.
  • Manage scheduling, production, and delivery of marketing materials with hard deadlines.
  • Stay on top of current projects and innovations occurring within the firm to support ongoing project documentation. Interview internal team members to draw out information on project attributes and statistics. Edit materials prepared by team members to ensure consistency with firm brand message.
  • Develop and maintain various marketing pieces, including project descriptions and resumes.
  • Perform and manage multiple marketing efforts against rapid and frequent deadlines.
  • An estimated allocation of time for this role's responsibilities is as follows: 80 percent proposal writing and preparation, 10 percent marketing material development and maintenance, 5 percent social media content, and 5 percent other.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years relevant writing experience and a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field required.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
  • Experience coordinating, organizing, writing, and designing complex, large documents.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to handle multiple, simultaneous assignments at various stages of development and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with office leadership and clients.
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office required.
  • Experience in the A/E/C industry is preferred.
