Proposal Writer

Purpose:

The Proposal Writer is responsible for responding to RFPs and ensuring all responses are current, well written and accurately reflects Prime’s key messages, products and services. This position supports the Director of RFP and Sales Planning and helps direct the work of the Associate Proposal Writer (if applicable).

Responsibilities:

• Manage the proposal process, from initial strategy meeting through production, to create a quality product, and ensure internal and external clients adhere to Prime’s proposal process 
• Research responses to proposal questionnaires using the Qvidian proposal software, subject matter experts (SMEs) and other sources, and manage the SMEs to ensure timely receipt of their complete response to identified questions 
• Review proposals to identify new questions, areas of concern, unique requirements and opportunities for differentiation 
• Develop concise, accurate and well written responses to proposal questions using the established criteria for quality proposal responses in partnership with sales, account management and/or client proposal contact 
• Ensure proposals and supporting materials include strategic positioning and messages as directed by the sales lead, account manager and/or client 
• Identify and organize appropriate exhibits to effectively support Prime’s proposals, and ensure proposal is packaged professionally and meets all proposal requirements and timeframes 
• Work with client proposal teams to create pharmacy proposals and maintain client-specific resources 
• Route new and updated responses to Database Specialist for inclusion in the RFP content management system 
• Promote company-wide understanding and adherence to the RFP process 
• Work with the Director of RFP and Sales Planning to mentor, coach and help direct the work of the Proposal Writer Associates. 
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. 
• 3 - 5 years of proposal experience

Additional Qualifications:

• Exceptional writing, editing, communication and project management skills 
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and balance multiple projects 
• Excellent collaborative and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and external clients 
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 - 3 years of PBM experience 
• Experience with Qvidian or other proposal management software.

Potential pay for this position ranges from $60,900.00 - $91,500.00 based on location, experience and skills.
