Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Marketing Director and Creative Director on a communications strategy and implementation plan across multiple channels including articles, press releases, social media, and web. 
  • Lead public relations efforts and establish a presence with editors and industry leaders. Manage media requests in a timely and professional manner. 
  • Develop and publish content, supportive of the firm-wide communication plan, that will assist Flad in its effort to be recognized as a leader in each of its market sectors. Track and analyze coverage to inform future campaigns. 
  • Research and conduct interviews with key team members and subject matter experts. Translate that information into compelling stories and marketing tools. 
  • Create accurate, engaging, and consistent content for thought leadership pieces, articles, whitepapers, case studies, award entries, video scripts, and other communication pieces. 
  • Develop and maintain content on company website and oversee messaging pushed through other channels inclusive of social media. Repurpose Flad web content to be placed on external trade websites such as Archello, Dezeen, and Architizer. Identify additional online publication opportunities. 
  • Work collaboratively with the marketing team to develop a variety of communications and marketing pieces. Inform brand guidelines, storytelling, and writing standards. Copyedit and proofread marketing materials for accuracy and style.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or equivalent required. 
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, media relations and/or related discipline. 
  • Previous corporate or agency public relations experience preferred. 
  • Previous experience working with media outlets to develop and deliver key messages and manage content. 
  • Portfolio that demonstrates a variety of published work. 
  • Strong working knowledge of a variety of public relations programs.
  • In-depth knowledge of current public relations and social media trends and capabilities. 
  • Ability to write clearly, concisely, and creatively. 
  • Ability to establish project plans, regularly monitor and track progress on projects, and ensure appropriate communications with project partners. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; knowledge of InDesign and public relations tools preferred. 
  • Availability during Flad's business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. required.
