Job Summary:

Under general supervision, provides project coordination and administrative support for Corporate Affairs. Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree at an accredited university majoring in journalism, public relations, communications or a related field. This intern will support the Corporate Affairs team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates with team members and various businesses/departments to help develop communication plans and related communications materials. 
  • Participates in content creation, copy editing, and delivery of internal and external communications including press releases, internet and intranet news stories, and employee communications/internal emails. 
  • Assists in the planning, production, and delivery of internal and external media materials, including infographics, posters, videos, social media assets, etc. 
  • Assists with content/graphic creation, copy editing and webpage layout design for the internet and intranet. 
  • Helps gather pertinent content for daily media clips for company-wide distribution. 
  • Generates media lists for PR campaigns and outreach. 
  • Assists in writing and designing social media content. 
  • Tracks social media analytics and provide reports to stakeholders. 
  • Works closely with Corporate Affairs staff to incorporate best practices and ECMC brand standards. 
  • Organizes and updates online databases and other mechanisms for archival/historical access. 
  • Participates in department planning meetings and helps prioritize workload. 
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in and pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with the graduation year of 2023 or 2024. Exceptions may be made depending on work/volunteer experience and course work. 
  • Major in journalism, public relations, communications or related field, with strength in written and verbal communication skills required 
  • Experience working with Microsoft Windows or Mac office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) 
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively convey information to individuals or groups, including choosing the appropriate method(s) of communication 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, leveraging analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills to drive work forward.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the higher education or financial industry, such as student loans, financial services or financial aid Proficiency with design software including Adobe Creative Cloud (2018 or later) 
  • Proficiency with social media monitoring tools (e.g., Hootsuite) 
  • Ability to anticipate, understand and manage stakeholder expectations and consistent delivery of services by clearly and effectively conveying information
