The public relations intern will assist the PR department in developing and executing proactive and creative strategies to connect with media and earn coverage on behalf of EPIC’s clients. The public relations intern will be responsible for supporting the PR department in daily functions including tracking, pitching, writing and reporting on media coverage all while learning the processes of a full service advertising agency.

The public relations intern will also support influencer marketing efforts by providing resources and information to brand ambassadors. Key skills in this role will include the ability to represent EPIC and EPIC clients in a professional manner, strong attention to detail, creative problem solving, and excellent writing and communication skills.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Track and report on media coverage for EPIC’s clients 
  • Develop and curate media lists 
  • Write press releases and blog content 
  • Research and apply for speaking engagements for speakers bureaus 
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student (or recent graduate) at an accredited college or university with a major in communications, marketing, advertising or other related field with an emphasis on public relations 
  • Strong writing and communication skills 
  • Excellent attention to details and highly organized 
  • Self-motivated and a positive attitude 
  • Creative problem solver 
  • Ability to collaborate and engage as a team player 
  • Experience with the Cision platform a bonus but not required
  • Portfolio and/or writing samples must be submitted with resume

EPIC Creative offers a paid part-time intership with a flexible work environment. Interns must be available for a minimum of 20 hours per week, and hours can be scheduled Monday-Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
