Your Responsibilities:

As a Public Relations Manager for John Deere Construction Equipment located in Moline, IL, you will…

  • Manage the Public Relations planning, development, recommendations, implementation for the products and services of Deere Construction and Compact Construction Equipment 
  • Write & issue news media releases, as well as monitors and analyzes new media coverage 
  • Lead the planning and implementation of strategic external communication plans for our emerging technologies, including electrification, connectivity, precision construction, etc.
  • Provide prep support and guidance to Division Leadership on news media issues

What Skills You Need:

  • 2 or more years of knowledge of the communication planning process and measurement techniques 
  • 2 or more years of brand management skills 
  • 1 or more years of knowledge of public affairs 
  • 2 or more years of understanding of communication theories

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • 4 or more years of experience in writing, editing, media relations and speech writing 
  • 4 or more years of a broad background of business experience within or outside the Company
  •  Cross functional work experience in multiple areas, i.e., accounting, product engineering quality, manufacturing ops, warehousing/ distribution, production employee supervision, supply management, marketing, HR, industrial engineering, etc. (Experience in three areas) 
  • 4 or more years of project management experience including plan development, budget management, team management, requirements gathering, delivery and deployment 
  • 1 or more years of understanding of Dealer channels (How product is sold and supported in market)

Education:

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business/Management, Communication/Journalism or equivalent related work experience
