Boelter + Lincoln is seeking a PR/social media account executive (AE) that is an organized, energetic and persuasive individual who will handle proactive editorial media outreach on behalf of B+L clients, as well as organic social media and influencer marketing initiatives. The AE must also be able to develop and manage communications plans and budgets. The AE is responsible for sound, proper and timely execution of all assigned work in a manner which enables the agency to maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with the accounts for they are responsible for.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate relevant editorial coverage for clients across multiple outlet types through both innovative pitching and relationships within the press
  • Media list development
  • Write and edit succinct and compelling media communications (AP style format); and copy (including newsletters, presentations, blogs, proposals, etc.)
  • Ideate, manage, organize and execute events
  • Thorough understanding of social media platforms
  • Keeps apprised of clients’ products/services, competitive set and target audience
  • Helps to analyze results and reports on program effectiveness
  • Assist in the research and preparation for new business pitches
  • Ability to manage influencer marketing programs, social media channels, curate content, manage social communities and report on metrics
  • Maintain communications with appropriate agency and client personnel to ensure that assigned work is handled in a positive, timely and efficient manner
  • Effectively executes strategies, problem-solves and develops solid business relationships 

Measures of Accountability:

  • Demonstrably contributes to B+L’s ability to maintain existing PR and social media accounts, as well as gain new ones 
  • Understanding of public relations, social media, and advertising principals 
  • Able to consistency solicit editorial coverage on behalf of clients 
  • Maintains a working knowledge of key local, industry and other relevant media 
  • Accuracy and timeliness in execution of assigned tasks 
  • Agency commitment-demonstrate loyalty to the agency and undertake non-account-related agency tasks/functions for the good of the agency 
  • Maintains positive, cooperative relationship between agency and client
  • 2-4 years of public relations agency/industry experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in public relations, journalism, marketing communications 
  • Working knowledge of fundamental public relations practices and principles, including AP-style writing and editing 
  • Understanding and experienced utilizing social media, blogs and other digital platforms to reach desired target audiences 
  • Proficient with Microsoft office suite, CisionPoint or other PR management platforms 
  • Must be experienced and comfortable pitching media by email and phone 
  • Well organized, strong planning skills, exhibits sound judgment
