Public Relations Specialist, Senior

How Is This Role Important to Our Work?

Responsible for providing key public relations and reputation management counsel at all levels of the company. Position has a strong emphasis on persuasive writing and verbal skills as well as providing consultative public relations support to various internal business areas. Responsible for development and oversight of specific critical communications initiatives that ties to overall public relations strategy. Accountable for public relations representation on strategic cross-functional initiatives. Reports to Dir. Public Relations.

A Day in the Life:

• Identifies and defines business problems, strategies and tactics to provide solutions that provide value to Blue Cross, the provider and Blue Cross members. 
• Responsible to implement the solutions.

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of healthcare industry 
• Bachelors Degree

Required Skills and Experiences:

• 7 + years of experience including public relations, communications, marketing communications. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered. 
• Proven experience in effectively communicating with top-level executives and external partners. 
• Exceptional collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively within the company. 
• Demonstrated ability in media relations and social media development. 
• Proven ability to present sophisticated business ideas, strategies and results succinctly and persuasively at a senior executive level. 
• Demonstrates highly effective writing skills and verbal presentation skills that drives impactful partner action. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). 
• Strong teammate able to work well across teams.
