As Public Relations Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work with local and national media outlets nationwide, interact with Best Buy’s internal teams and external partners, and be part of an energetic, in-house External Communications team that drives tens of thousands of media stories a year for one of the leading retailers in the country.
You will focus on providing media relations support, including building and maintaining relationships with reporters, editors, and producers to effectively pitch and fulfill stories. As a Public Relations Specialist, you will be involved in both proactive and reactive media relations. This person will assist in creating strategic communication plans for a variety of cross-functional projects in partnership with both internal and external partners.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage multiple projects, be a skilled storyteller, have a passion for interacting with reporters on a daily basis and be able to quickly understand topics/issues and how to translate into news for media.
