Our client CMRignite is seeking an experienced temp to hire Public Relations Specialist to join their team.

To succeed in the position, the ideal candidate will have superior verbal, writing and editing skills; knowledge of and ability to work with multicultural media and audiences; and the ability to work independently on multiple projects. Past experience within an agency is desired.

  • Develop and implement internal and external communications plans to increase awareness
  • Assist in the development of PR plans and client proposals 
  • Lead client meetings and maintain positive relationships with clients
  • Support business development efforts as a Subject Matter Expert by creating scopes of work that include integrated strategies, SMART goals and tactics for new business opportunities
  • Research, write, edit and deliver attention-grabbing media materials and related documents, including pitch letters, news releases, media alerts, white papers and case studies
  • Familiarity and understanding of media monitoring platforms like Meltwater and Cision
  • Edit and approve media reports for clients that include analytics and impressions
  • Clear understanding of what is newsworthy and how newsrooms work
  • Ability to leverage existing media relationships on behalf of CMRignite clients
  • Maintain and nurture close working relationships with media representatives and outlets, including television, radio, print media and maintaining these relationships
  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, communications, marketing or a related field
  • Understanding and experience working with Asana or similar project management software
  • Previous public and/or media relations experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience working with diverse and multicultural audiences is preferred
  • Excellent writing abilities
  • Strong team player who can work well with others
  • Ability to think creatively to truly engage the media
  • Ability to think critically and work well within the fast-paced environment of a growing agency
