Publicist

Tyndale

About:

As a culture, we need a voice we can trust. Someone to cut through the noise and point to true north. For over 50 years, Tyndale has proved a faithful guide—helping readers discover the life-giving truths of the Bible.

Today, we’re one of the largest independently owned Christian publishers in the world. But our mission is the same: to open God’s Word to as many as possible in language they can relate to and understand.

Along with Bibles, we offer a wide range of nonfiction books—insight to renew the spirit while tackling life at street level. We publish children’s poducts to engage and enrich the next generation. We publish fiction from fresh, new voices and celebrated authors alike—capturing the imagination of millions of fans.

But at Tyndale, sales are only a means. Every year, a majority of profits are given to charitable missions, helping serve people in need around the world.

TYNDALE. Trusted. For Life.

Tyndale House has a wonderful opportunity for someone who is motivated, hard-working, and adept at generating interest for our products and authors on major media outlets. The ideal candidate would be a team player with solid communication skills—both verbal and written—and public relations, communications, or marketing experience. The publicist plans the PR campaign, creates strategic PR content for each product, and then communicates effectively to the media to secure publicity opportunities for Tyndale authors and projects (in television, radio, podcast, print, and web media). Publicists pitch and schedule interviews and editorial opportunities for authors, manage a million details, and build strong working relationships with publishing groups, authors, and media counterparts.

A college degree is required, and 3 to 5 years of public relations, communications, or marketing experience is preferred. Professional composure, strategic thinking skills, and business agility are necessary to be successful in this position. Candidates need excellent written and presentation skills, strong project management and organizational/follow-up skills, great relationship building capabilities, and a willingness to learn a media database to pitch and follow up with media counterparts. Qualified candidates will need to possess a natural and comfortable team player approach along with a personable, flexible, self-motivated, service-orientated attitude. The environment is dynamic and fast paced, and the ability to work independently is a must!
