The Quality Assurance Engineer will ensure high-quality web-based software through functional, regression, and performance testing in a collaborative, agile-scrum work environment, leveraging both manual and test automation practices. The Quality Assurance Engineer is a mid-level position expected to spend up to 50% of his/her time applying Java skills toward building and executing automated regression and performance tests.

  • Test new and existing software features using manual and automated test methods 
  • Perform functional, compatibility, accessibility, and security testing as needed 
  • Design, create, maintain and execute automated acceptance, regression, and performance tests
  • Identify and document issues found in applications during manual and automated testing to assist with easy recreation 
  • Collaborate with software product owners and project teams to understand and advise on well-defined and testable acceptance criteria 
  • Assist software engineers with the design and implementation of software conducive to automated acceptance tests 
  • Assist DevOps engineers with identifying resources for all manual and automated testing needs
  • Document automation using behavior driven development 
  • Participate in design and code reviews associated with automation development 
  • Assist quality engineer(s) with the design and implementation of software conducive to automated acceptance tests
  • Extensive experience testing software solutions using manual and automated testing approaches 
  • Extensive experience testing secure, scalable, and highly available web applications 
  • Experience using test automation frameworks 
  • Experience with cross-browser testing 
  • Experience with accessibility testing 
  • Experience or knowledge of web application development technologies and concepts
  • Demonstrated programming abilities using Java; preference for ability to code using Spring framework libraries 
  • Ability to design user interface automation using IntelliJ, Selenium, and a Java-based automation framework 
  • Proven experience analyzing and troubleshooting issues, as well as escalating in order to resolve 
  • Strong work ethic with abilities to work independently, follow a schedule, and meet deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent experience 
  • Five + years of experience testing web applications 
  • Three + years of experience building/executing automated tests for web applications
