Mission:

Guerrero Howe has achieved 20% growth year over year for the past three years. Our sales team is the driving force behind our success. We’re looking to continue this growth by adding an additional director to our sales leadership team. This individual will be responsible for managing 8-10 Content & Advertising Managers to ensure their success toward revenue targets and develop them in their careers.

Responsibilities:

Provides continuous coaching

  • Monitors calls and emails, providing feedback
  • Identifies key areas of improvement amongst team
  • Conducts weekly team meetings

Leads, manages, and holds a team accountable

  • Effectively delegates tasks by empowering employees
  • Motivates sales team to exceed quotas
  • Fosters a strong sense of camaraderie within the team

Conducts quarterly performance reviews

  • Builds a strong team of Content & Advertising Managers to meet Guerrero Howe’s strategic goals
  • Maintains appropriate staffing levels to ensure current and long-term objectives are met
  • Conducts interviews and evaluates candidates to join the sales team
  • Trains new employees on all aspects of the sale
  • Retains top talent by promoting and elevating high-potential employees

Understands the needs of the publication(s) and market conditions

  • Becomes the foremost expert on their publication’s target audience and advertisers
  • Empowers the team to act on new opportunities that align with Guerrero Howe’s goals
  • Understands the negotiation process with advertisers and directs team activities accordingly

Cultivates strong relationships throughout the company to achieve Guerrero Howe’s strategic goals

  • Actively participates in departmental strategic planning
  • Uses historic data to set appropriate quotas for the team and individuals
  • Establishes goals that challenge the status quo and drive growth
  • Works cooperatively with the creative team to ensure the editorial mission of the publication is consistent with all featured clients
  • Proactively uses company resources to resolve client issues
  • Seeks innovation in new products and processes to enable the sales team

Actively engages with others to continuously strive to improve processes, create efficiencies and reduce costs

Requirements and Skills:

  • 4-7 years of sales experience preferred 
  • 1-3 years of management experience preferred 
  • Proven experience in meeting and exceeding team quotas 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively handle confidential information
  • High Level of professional communication both written and verbal 
  • Bachelor’s degree
