Wilks Communications Group ( is a fast-growing integrated marketing communications and public relations firm located in Chicago’s West Loop. We serve a wide range of clients across the food, consumer products, lifestyle, corporate and nonprofit sectors.

We are seeking a senior account executive to join our largest account team in an exciting and collaborative professional environment. We are looking for a thinker, strategist and doer; ready to jump in the deep end to develop and lead implementation of digital solutions on behalf of a large food ingredient client.

Primary Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage client website activities including day-to-day strategy, SEO, content uploads, measurement and ongoing maintenance
  • Support brand activities on E-commerce channels including strategy development, listing management, promotions coordination, etc.
  • Support digital, social and E-commence advertising campaigns including targeting and ongoing optimization
  • Partner with functional area-experts within the agency in support of integrated communications marketing campaigns
  • Supervise and manage junior members by motivating, coaching and consistently providing feedback

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 – 4 years of relevant experience within the digital marketing/PR industry
  • Proven ability to manage multiple small or medium-sized projects simultaneously
  • Interest and/or knowledge of E-commerce and digital advertising (e.g. paid social, PPC) opportunities and strategies
  • Prior experience in managing websites and email marketing strategies and tools
  • Able to contribute to content marketing strategies through SEO recommendations
  • Able to thrive and be flexible in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to gain a full understanding of relevant aspects of our clients’ businesses and generate new ideas to solve their digital and E-commerce challenges

Skills and Expertise:

  • Website – Familiarity with website development, management and SEO best practices, experience with WordPress or similar platform, ability to troubleshoot issues and manage site updates (uploads, microsites, new pages, etc.; with developer)
  • E-commerce marketing – Familiarity with marketing offerings from major e-commerce marketplaces; ability to showcase brand messages, creative, assets, etc. via e-commerce platforms, ability to manage advertising/coupons/etc., strong research skills
  • Email marketing – familiarity with email marketing tool, content creation experience
  • Digital advertising – familiarity with digital advertising backends and basic best practices; strong analytical skills with understanding of statistical techniques: hypothesis development, designing tests/experiments, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations
  • Comfortable learning new systems and tools
  • Experienced with key software including data analysis programs and Microsoft Excel (advanced proficiency)
  • Strong presentation skills, poise and professionalism
  • Excellent writing skills, strong attention to detail, organizational and multi-tasking skills and ability to be proactive
