Role:

At Carmichael Lynch Relate, Senior Account Executives execute client and agency projects and initiatives essential to keeping PR accounts, integrated accounts, agency programs and high-profile campaigns running smoothly.

You will contribute to an account’s success by supporting senior team members and ensuring all deliverables are best-in-class and error-free. An important function of your role is driving projects forward, keeping the team informed on progress, and managing project details. You’ll be invited to seek creative solutions and seek out unexpected opportunities to help achieve impactful business objectives for clients. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn about PR program budgeting, strategic planning and business development while continuing to drive the daily work forward.

Areas of Focus:

  • Collaborate with team leads to develop comprehensive, strategic plans to meet client business and communications objectives, timing and budget parameters
  • Contribute to internal team and external client status meetings, leading project-related client conversations, sharing timely updates, ensuring timely delivery of meeting agendas, notes and conference reports, and ensuing team and client communications
  • Develop and maintain strong media contacts for the agency, develop media lists, author pitches, actively pitch editors and reporters, and generate earned media coverage in support of clients’ media relations goals
  • Grow and maintain influencer contacts and assist with the research, development and execution of influencer programs in support of clients’ influencer engagement goals
  • Write news releases, bylined articles, social content and other materials in support of a client’s business and PR programming
  • Communicate regularly with the team to share work updates and progress of assigned tasks
  • Participate in new business development including media audits, influencer audits, brainstorms, presentation content, development and delivery

Attributes and Skills Important to Your Success as a Senior Account Executive:

  • Understand PR – An understanding and ability to share your knowledge of the public relations discipline with less experienced team members, in particular media relations and influencer engagement, is essential to this role.
  • Show Attention to Detail – Attention to detail is a point of entry in our business. Accuracy and quality depend on getting the details right every time and on every project.
  • Bring Solutions – Approach every challenge with a solutions-first approach; bring that mindset to everything (seriously, everything) and everyone.
  • Take Responsibility – Ownership and accountability for your assignments and their progress and outcomes are key to success in a team and agency environment, and crucial to your success in this role.
  • Ask for Help – It’s not always easy, but it’s always important; elevate issues in real time and show us you can use the resources around you when you need them. Consider yourself one of those resources for junior team members.
  • Help Others – Each of us has a job to do, and each of our jobs supports team members and/or the broader organization; make time to understand the bigger picture and how your role and your duties are integral to the client and agency work and can elevate everyone around you, especially those less experienced on your teams. Look for ways to expand your role and your skills to match.
  • Think Creatively/Act Creatively – Good ideas are our favorite food group, and we believe they can come from anywhere and anyone, whether introverted or extroverted; be present and actively participate during virtual meetings via chat threads and during in-person meetings via discussions.
  • Show Entrepreneurial Spirit – There isn’t always one way to do things; demonstrate intellectual curiosity and explore new opportunities, approaches and relationships to your assignments – and share them with others.
  • Demonstrate Organizational Skills – Strong organizational skills are key to keeping clients happy, teams aligned and everyone on task. We seek individuals who can juggle multiple priorities, accept responsibility and ownership for the completion of those tasks, and quickly adapt within a fast-paced environment that may require ongoing re-prioritization.
  • Be an Excellent Writer – Writing is one of the most important skills of a PR professional. In addition to understanding AP Style and consistently applying it to media materials development, understanding writing styles required for deck development, media relations materials, bylined articles and client, media and influencer communications are essential to this role.
