Senior Communications Manager, Investor Relations

The Position:

The Senior Communications Manager will be an integral team member, reporting directly to the Head of the Investor Relations team. S/he will have responsibility for assisting with both internal and external communications and business development efforts. The successful candidate will be a strong generalist bringing an understanding of corporate and financial communications, content development and storytelling, media relations, digital communications and corporate events. In addition, the candidate will work collaboratively across the organization to execute communications strategies. This role is based in either Chicago or New York.

The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for the following:

  • Creating a wide range of marketing materials, including working with investment teams on original content creation and providing presentation design for current clients and prospective investors 
  • Distributing PSG digital content to the relevant mediums, including email marketing, social media and publications and tracking results 
  • Ensuring consistency of firm’s brand and corporate identity across internal and external communications 
  • Planning and implementing corporate events and conference sponsorships, including overseeing the PSG marketing budget 
  • Engaging in proactive media relations, coordinate company speaking opportunities and conference participation 
  • Efficiently measuring sales and marketing activity and results; regularly reviewing those metrics to improve the effectiveness of marketing programs 
  • Providing feedback and recommendations to improve processes, policies, and client satisfaction 
  • Collaborating and maintaining strong working relationships within the Sales and Investor Relations teams as well as with other teams across the firm

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree required 
  • A minimum of seven years professional experience in the financial services industry 
  • Knowledge of alternatives strategies including equity strategies is beneficial 
  • Experience in marketing to both institutional and retail investors preferred 
  • Big-picture thinker with impeccable attention to detail 
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills, with proven ability to produce engaging, thoughtful, relevant, effective and compliant content 
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, the ability to prioritize work within a complex, fast-paced environment, while maintaining an optimistic outlook 
  • Expertise in digital marketing and innovative data-driven marketing analysis 
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); knowledge of Salesforce CRM, Pardot, Cvent, Seismic, Adobe Creative Suite and HTML coding a plus
