What you will do:

Coordinates and implements communication programs, initiatives, and campaigns that align with Northwestern Mutual's strategic corporate communication priorities. These activities inform, educate, and influence a range of target audiences including the company's clients, prospects, key influencers, the field, employees and other partners.

How you will do it:

  • Efficiently publish content according to the editorial calendar, upon receipt of final content from the editors, including high-priority emails and all employee emails, including CEO messages and key messages from other SLT leadership
  • Manage channels and have a deep understanding of systems, audience segments, channel data and performance metrics
  • Provide guidance on effective content delivery to an audience based on channel data and related research Identify and resolve technology and platform issues and work with Digital Workplace team on system enhancements
  • Act as liaison to stakeholders regarding audience segmentation and content planning
  • Act as subject matter expert on publishing tools and platforms.

  • Proven experience and proficiency using various publishing tools to produce high-quality web and email content
  • Quick to learn new publishing platforms and communication tools
  • Demonstrated interest in continuously developing knowledge and skills related to use of constantly evolving technology
  • Experience with using and managing enterprise distribution lists
  • Experience with transitioning to new enterprise communication tools and training others on tools is a plus
  • HTML familiarity and some Adobe Creative Suite experience (Photoshop, InDesign) is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 or more years of experience in professional communication, public relations, organizational communication, marketing or related communication field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to absorb information and convert to an understandable format.
  • Ability to build rapport, engage with and gain acceptance at all levels.
  • Ability to solve problems and analyze possible solutions to make business decisions.
