Leads or directs the design, development and deployment of communication plans and branding strategies that support enterprise and/or business unit goals and objectives. Oversees the development of strategies and tactics that connect target audiences to those objectives and goals with significant impact on Boeing business results, policies, or employee and/or leadership initiatives. Provides advanced expertise in identifying content and appropriate production resources and techniques for Boeing internal/external communications including co-marketing activities and determines channel strategies. Manages and plans the promotion of stories to key media and evaluates the merit of media inquiries about business unit activities. Cultivates and maintains strategic relationships with influential contacts. Anticipates, plans and manages communications and branding around issues facing the enterprise and/or business unit.

The Boeing Company is seeking to hire a Senior Communications Specialist in Chicago, IL who will design and deliver employee communications programs in the areas of culture, change, leadership, and learning and development.

This highly visible role supports Boeing’s HR function and provides counsel to senior leaders. The successful applicant will develop and execute strategic communications plans that drive awareness, understanding and engagement among Boeing’s 150,000 global workforce. As such, strong project management skills and an ability to think critically and influence stakeholders are required.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop global communication plans that support company strategy and business objectives. 
  • Support change efforts that drive understanding and adoption by impacted employees. 
  • Counsel and collaborate with business partners and leaders to deliver clear, employee-centric communications. 
  • Write and edit materials such as key messages, talking points and scripts, both independently and in partnership with communications colleagues. 
  • Tell compelling stories through multiple communications platforms and formats, including internal news vehicles and videos. 
  • Manage project plans with close attention to detail and quality.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher 
  • 10+ years of Communications work experience 
  • 10+ years of experience creating and implementing communications plans 
  • 10+ years of experience developing communications strategies that include executive speeches, employee communications, infographics, videos, web content and social media 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Experience in employee communications or a change management communications role, either in a corporate or creative agency setting

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 15 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master +13 years' related work experience, 19 years' related work experience, etc.).
