Western National is looking for a strong communicator to join our Organization. The Senior Communications Specialist will handle the writing, editing, and delivery of internal and external communications, copy for marketing materials, email marketing, and development of other marketing resources that enhance the competitive position of the company.

This role will also be heavily involved in the creation of corporate communications, Intranet content, blog/web content, video, and contributions to Western National’s social media accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Write, proofread, and edit content for internal and external publication. 
  • Lead the day-to-day content management (reviewing, editing, updating, and developing) of the corporate Intranet. 
  • Lead the writing, editing, and preparing content for corporate communication plans (supporting corporate initiatives) from start to finish. 
  • Write, edit, and deliver email marketing campaigns in support of corporate marketing initiatives. 
  • Contribute professional-grade copy for advertisements, brochures, internal campaign materials, print and digital publications, and other projects as assigned. 
  • Lead or assist in all other matters of corporate communications (e.g., website, social media, video, public relations). 
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, English, Journalism, Psychology or a related field and 2 years of professional communications experience, or equivalent combination of experience and education. 
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Proficient in the 5 C’s and editing according to them. 
  • Accurate and strong attention to detail. 
  • Excellent quality in completed assignments. 
  • Demonstrated quality judgment and tact regarding the appropriateness of communications.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. 
  • Experience with HTML and/or blogging platforms is preferred. 
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite software, especially InDesign and Illustrator, is preferred. 
  • Completion of at least one AICPCU-IIA program is preferred. 
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud / ExactTarget or similar email marketing software is preferred.
