Senior Copywriter

Job Summary:

Responsible for bringing the corporate brand to life through creative and inspirational copywriting. Translates the exceptional work we do to create engaging, sharable and searchable content for our audiences with a focus on acquiring and retaining patients.

This role is 80% time copywriting and 20% content strategy, working closely with our digital teams to optimize our websites, social media and shareable content. Produces guides, templates and research that appeal to our target markets, working closely with internal and external thought leaders and subject matter experts. Leads content planning, messaging and branding initiatives, content creation and delivery. This includes driving content across multiple platforms and formats to drive awareness, engagement, leads and retention. In addition, your copy should serve multiple diverse audiences.

Key Position Details:

Role can be performed remotely; Minnesota and Western Wisconsin candidates preferred.

Principle Responsibilities:

Creates content that can be cascaded through numerous deliverables an channels including print and digital channels, webinars, executive presentations, email series and other advertising deliverables.

  • Presents work to internal customers. 
  • Works directly with key leaders, physicians and subject matter experts. 
  • Ensures content is on brief, aligned with best practices and brand standards.

Manages and maintains editorial plans, calendars and content.

  • Acts as an expert for existing and emerging trends for our audience and channels. 
  • Assists in the development of customer journeys and personas. 
  • Plays a key role in the creative brief process with the ability to understand and translate marketing, strategic briefs and customer research into engaging creative concepts that support business objectives and goals. 
  • Leads the copywriting concepting process. 
  • Pitches work to internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Supports and mentors junior members of the content team. 
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and cross train other team members in emerging trends and content marketing principles.

Understands and champions brand standards and takes a lead role in the ongoing development and enhancement of the brand with a specific focus on brand voice.

  • Manages and maintains the style guide, message maps and brand standards 
  • Monitors brand application on individual and team projects to ensure consistency across all channels of communication. 
  • Reinforces user-centered best practices and serves as a mentor for the team. 
  • Provides best practice guidance and training to internal and external partners for effective visual design to raise the bar for the organizations brand identity. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, advertising or similar required 
  • Master's degree preferred 
  • 5 to 7 years of experience as a B2C content writer, copywriter or similar required 
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in content strategy required
