Senior Copywriter

The Senior Copywriter will create brand-building concepts, copy and campaigns for the iconic Crate and Barrel brand. They are a skilled writer with a clear creative voice and deep knowledge of modern marketing and advertising channels. They are a creative ideator and a researcher, a big-picture thinker and detail-oriented doer, and take a customer-first approach to all aspects of their work.

Lead concepting and copywriting for all modern marketing channels, including:

  • Corporate initiatives
  • Digital display ads
  • Editorial blog content
  • Feature content for catalogs
  • Packaging
  • Social content and paid social advertising, primarily for Instagram and Pinterest, across various formats and media types
  • Store signage and windows
  • Videos

Partner with creative design, marketing strategy, copy editing, media and PR to develop creative work from idea to flawless execution.

Develop proactive ideas and innovative creative solutions that address brand and business goals.

Bring style, culture and trend inspiration to the team.

Present concepts to project stakeholders and marketing/creative leadership with clarity and conviction.

Mentor mid- and junior-level copywriters.

Maintain brand standards and consistency of brand voice.

Attend photo and video shoots when necessary.

Required Skills:

  • Must provide a portfolio link (including password) on resume or provide PDF writing samples
  • BA in English, Journalism, or Creative Writing preferred 
  • A minimum of 7 years professional creative writing experience in advertising, retail, or editorial journalism 
  • Experience with home, fashion or lifestyle brands preferred 
  • A robust portfolio that demonstrates smart copywriting and innovative brand ideas across multiple modern marketing channels 
  • A hybrid creative writer and smart marketer 
  • A way with words that is warm, witty and natural 
  • An open and curious mind 
  • A team player who enjoys collaborating for the greater good 
  • Demonstrated expertise in creating engaging social content 
  • Passion for home design, entertaining, fashion, trends and culture
