Demco has been serving libraries and education communities for more than 110 years and is the leading source for solutions to support lifelong learning and enrichment. We reach our customers through creative digital, email, print, tradeshow and content marketing campaigns, which are influenced by a number of dynamic team members who all have the same goal of providing compelling design and messaging. We are currently accepting resumes for a Senior Designer to produce and oversee creative digital and print solutions that align to our marketing objectives and goals.

As a Senior Designer, you will embody the Demco brand and delivery high-quality creative work. Job responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with our Marketing Managers to develop and execute marketing objectives and ensure brand consistency across all digital and print channels 
  • Prioritizing of work and alignment of production schedule as needed to meet business demands 
  • Monitoring and understanding the latest design trends, as well as maintains high skill levels in relevant design tools and platforms 
  • Assisting in establishing and maintaining guidelines to produce advertising, marketing materials, corporate imagery, and communication standards, in various formats
  • Reviewing project requirements and develops concepts by collaborating with key internal stakeholders
  • Preparing design proofs to be presented to Marketing Manager and Business Unit Owner for review Researching, selecting, and securing photography, graphics, and other illustrative material
  • Assisting in development, execution, and presentation of new creative business concepts 
  • Seeking out new technology, design approaches, interactive, costā€savings applications to advance capabilities and increase efficiencies
  • Providing design support for internal business and employee communication including customer correspondence, corporate board presentations, proposals (RFPs), and special reports

The ideal candidate will have a strong aesthetic, wonderful time management, a creative and engaging portfolio of work, and a commitment to the core values of Demco. To be successful in this role, you should have an in-depth knowledge of graphic design, styles, layout techniques, and be a vocal brand advocate. You should also have experience executing integrated marketing campaigns across digital, web, and print channels. Core responsibilities include developing web designs, landing pages, emails, advertising, sales brochures, print and digital catalogs, presentations and tradeshow materials, Go-To-Market collateral, product development among other marketing materials.

Specific experience requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or Graphic Arts, Communications, or Advertising; or a similar Associates Degree with equivalent work experience
  • At least six years of professional design in a corporate or agency setting 
  • Comprehensive portfolio highlighting design expertise in color theory, sensorial design, typography, and layout as well as web and other interactive design experience
  • Proven ability to design for various mediums, including web, digital, and print
  • High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft 365 Suite, asset management, PIM, HTML & CSS, Content Management Systems (CMS), marketing automation platforms or other email marketing tools
  • Experience using project management and/or proofing platforms
  • Proven ability to participate in the creative development process from conception to completion
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt design ideas to meet brief criteria and technical requirements
  • Knowledge of print production techniques and processes, including releasing jobs to printers
