You will be responsible for ensuring the creation of compelling written content across the Public Affairs portfolio to achieve our key communications and messaging goals. You will focus on developing and driving written communications to help inform and educate several non-technical audiences and grow the reputation of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. The level of work required is considered advanced and operates under minimal supervision. This job has no direct reports. This position internally will be titled as a Senior Digital Content Analyst.

Responsibilities:

  • Write and edit high quality digital content. 
  • Develop written content for the Bank's website and written outreach associated with media and government relations. 
  • Manage writing projects, often working closely with researchers to translate complex economic and policy subjects. 
  • Helps develop and execute the Bank's content strategy, including building editorial calendars, advancing editorial processes, and supporting the production of marketing and promotional collateral. 
  • Collaborate on projects and campaigns that bring together digital design, video production, social media and email outreach, working closely with content strategists, web developers, editors, designers, project managers, IT staff, and others across the Bank. 
  • Align content with the Bank's Public Affairs strategy and the Chicago Fed's messaging framework. 
  • Contribute to executive communications, supporting select writing needs of senior Bank leaders. 
  • Develop new processes and workflows to increase efficiency, driving quality standards and meeting a range of deadlines. 
  • Assess and advise on best practices/application for emerging digital communications. 
  • Serve as a mentor for less-experienced staff.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or work equivalent in journalism, communications, public relations, digital marketing or related communications field 
  • At least five years of related experience 
  • Experience copy editing, working with Associated Press Style and guiding written work through internal review processes.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Excellent writing and communications skills with the strong understanding of editorial processes 
  • Excellent editing skills and a strong attention to detail 
  • Demonstrated ability to convey complex subject matter in an understandable and interesting style 
  • Understand and have a keen interest in financial services, economics and community development 
  • Collaborative, works well with others, and can thrive in a team environment
