The American Hospital Association (AHA) is a national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. The AHA has two main offices, located in Washington, D.C. and Chicago. We are currently seeking a Senior Digital Marketing Specialist for our downtown Chicago office. This position is a hybrid role (three days in the office, two days working remote).

Starting base salary = $74,000 - $92,000 a year (commensurate with related experience).

The Senior Digital Marketing Specialist is accountable for all digital products and is responsible for managing the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) digital communications via websites, social media, mobile and email. This individual will support key AONL strategic priorities and operational effectiveness by working collaboratively with AONL and AHA staff and external partners to support both new and current digital marketing campaigns. This individual will improve AONL’s digital presence through targeted plans, marketing automation, high conversion rates, repeat customers and lead intelligence. This position will also monitor digital performance and KPI’s to ensure we continually achieve and exceed targets while maintaining a positive return on our investment. This individual will facilitate project management as it relates to the key aspects; communication, understanding, timing, cost and post-mortem analysis. This position will also support ad-hoc projects of the marketing department.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develops and implements marketing strategies to optimize digital marketing effectiveness and enhance user experience. 
  2. Administers and utilizes email marketing platform for member communications that includes but is not limited to: content layout, ad placement, automation, list management, debugging HTML, distribution, tracking, testing and reporting for advertisers and AONL staff. 
  3. Maintains web content management system for all AONL websites (AONL.org, AONL.org/Annual Meeting, AONL.org/Foundation, Leaders.AONL.org, AcademicProgression.org and Advocacy.AONL.org) and digital communication platforms (social sites, email platforms and mobile apps), which includes but is not limited to: planning, design, testing, daily content maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues, integrations, database repositories and forms. 
  4. Develops comprehensive digital marketing strategies for AONL social media pages, including paid social media and Twitter Chats. Identifies, interprets and implements emerging social media trends and social tracking tools (Facebook pixel and Twitter pixel), to more efficiently and effectively achieve business goals. 
  5. Lead project stakeholders on content, design, AHA IT and digital communications professionals and outside vendors to ensure compliance with AHA & AONL guidelines, as well as improving the functionality of the websites. 
  6. Oversee web and digital communication software tools and ownership and development of website budget. 
  7. Manages Google analytics, webmaster tools, and SEO crawl tool/MOZ for AONL. Conducts monthly reporting and plans and implements campaigns to increase traffic to the websites and ROI on purchased platforms. 
  8. Continually improves AONL’s websites and other digital communications platforms by researching, evaluating, recommending and implementing solutions and new functionality that help drive value. 
  9. Provides support to Marketing Manager and AONL staff for new online project development and special initiatives. 
  10. Develops and implements strategic membership engagements, including AONL Leader2Leader Online Community, health care week campaigns and creating volunteer opportunities.

Education:

Required -

  • Bachelors or better in Marketing or related field.

Experience:

Required 5-7 years:

  • Minimum 5 years of digital marketing experience. 
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Marekto (email marketing automation software) or similar. 
  • Proficient in Adobe Design suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, InDesign, PremierPro). 
  • Proficiency in google analytics, webmaster tools, MOZ, Google developer tools, Hotjar, Hootesuite and other web/social traffic measurement tools. 
  • Expert knowledge in techniques, such as HTML, CSS, responsive website layout, etc. and experience developing content using TeamSite or other Content Management System (Drupal, Wordpress, Sitecore). 

Preferred:

  • Experience with video production and/or animation is a plus.
  • Health care experience is a plus. 
  • Strong knowledge of managing multiple websites, social media programs, email campaigns, monitoring tools and analytics. 
  • Knowledge of membership development and customer relations is preferred. 
  • Expert knowledge in techniques, such as HTML, CSS, responsive website layout, etc. and experience developing content using TeamSite or other Content Management System (Drupal, Wordpress, Sitecore). 
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript, jQuery and Flash is a plus.
