The Multi-Channel Marketing team manages all direct marketing and digital marketing for MDA. As part of the Resource Development function, we generate mass-market awareness, support, and revenue for MDA’s mission by regularly engaging with hundreds of thousands of MDA supporters and constituents.

Position Description:

The Senior Director, Integrated Marketing & Development oversees the strategy, program management, analysis, and optimization of all direct response donor programs. This individual serves as the primary strategic contact for direct response agency partner. This position is expected to deliver net revenue, acquire new MDA supporters, and cultivate and retain donors for the purpose of increasing long-term value.

The Senior Director provides quantitative and qualitative analysis and support for marketing and fundraising programs and campaigns. This individual will be responsible for analyzing marketing data from sources such as CRM, website, direct mail, social media, search marketing, email, research, benchmarks, and industry trends. The incumbent is responsible for developing and implementing strategy for digital and non-digital analytics, vendor and tool selection, reporting and dashboard development, optimization testing and overall analytics project management. This individual will work closely with the Marketing and Senior Leadership teams, stakeholders, vendors, and developers to identify data needs and implement solutions capable of delivering them. The Senior Director, Integrated Marketing & Development reports to the Vice President, Multi-Channel Marketing.

What you’ll do:

  • Oversee all aspects of campaign development and execution for all direct response mail and phone fundraising channels and audiences and improve program gross and net revenue. 
  • Coordinate annual direct response integrated communications calendar in conjunction with MDA Brand Editorial calendar. 
  • Develop high performing direct response marketing and donor care teams. 
  • Manage expense budget, monthly cash flow and performance reports, current trending, risks, and opportunities. 
  • Partner with the Senior Director, Digital Marketing to develop integrated marketing and fundraising campaigns and segmentation strategies across online and offline channels. 
  • Effectively manage internal and external resources including but not limited to DR agency of record, database of record vendor, call center vendor, acquisition vendor, print and production vendors, acknowledgment vendors, and caging and lockbox vendors, and direct mail and donor care staff. 
  • Continuously surface creative/resource materials and collaborate internally to bring MDA-wide, mission-focused efforts to all constituents. 
  • Analyze and evaluate marketing and fundraising effectiveness of online and offline channels by developing and executing insightful reports and dashboards. 
  • Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to develop measurement models/plans that are scalable and able to drive engagement strategies. 
  • Present analysis and recommendations by pulling from a variety of quantitative and qualitative data sets and presenting to key stakeholders. 
  • Assess and implement new opportunities for integrations between existing and/or new tools to create efficiencies, ensuring data is accurately being transferred and tracked. 
  • Define and validate technical requirements to improve our ability to capture more insight on audience engagement. 
  • Aggregate behavioral, user, and survey data from multiple sources to produce a composite picture of user experience and digital usability and make recommendations for enhancements/improvements. 
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, benchmarks, and best practices, drawing on them to inform marketing and fundraising strategies and tactics.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. 
  • 8 years of non-profit direct response fundraising and experience managing vendors required. 
  • Strategic and data-driven thinker with excellent project management skills. 
  • Ability to identify and respond to issues/opportunities in a timely manner. 
  • Demonstrated experience successfully managing departmental P&L. 
  • Online fundraising experience, including strategy development in a non-profit organization. 
  • Direct marketing/mail exposure, preferably in a non-profit environment. 
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with internal and external constituents. 
  • Leadership, management, and organizational skills. 
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills. 
  • Ability to turn data into actionable management information. 
  • High professional standards with the ability to translate broad goals into achievable steps. 
  • Knowledge of fundraising software applications and reporting tools.

Salary Range:

This position's salary range is$140,000 - $160,000. Final offer amounts and levels are determined by multiple factors, including your experience, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
